Here are three of the 5 part series for painting class. It is a series based on painting the figure abstractly from observation.
Tienanmen Square was a horrific display of the Chinese government's destruction of their own people. They used their military forces, trained to protect the people, in order to kill them. This began as peaceful protests. The people of China just wanted to be heard by their government. It ends in the death of over 1400 people. Over 20,000 casualties. This is disgusting. To this day the the Chinese people can not access information about this tragedy. More censoring of the Chinese population. Now the young people of China can never really know the truth about this time in history. All of this really just makes me sad and frustrated that these forms of government can still be functioning in the world today.
In 3d class this past week we were assigned a partner to ask twenty questions and make a gift. I was partnered with Alex. The gift I made him is the type of gift you didn't know you wanted until it is given to you. A really big hat. It is constructed with cardboard, paper mache and fabric. I think it looks great on him, but Alex didn't even want to wear it home. I think he was embarrassed.
